Novel Project: Between Shades of Gray

Between Shades of Gray is a historical fiction and it takes the reader through the time of the Russian takeover. The book takes place in the year 1945 and during World War II. The main character is Lina Vilkas and she and her family gets taken by the NKVD and are forced to work in Siberia under the NKVD. The NKVD specifically takes people from the Baltic states because Russia took over the Baltic states in an agreement with Hitler and Germany. Lina gets separated from her father and she has to survive in the camps with her mother Elena, her brother Jonas, and the rest of the Lithuanians picked up.
